I am 43 and the Ozzie RC was released before I was even one year old. But he became my favorite player when I was 6 or 7 watching Cardinals games with my dad. I didn't even know about the rookie card until I was 10 or 11 and then tried to get one. I couldn't (and later wouldn't) spend a bunch of money on a copy and I wanted a really good card. All the ones I found in my twenty's were either too expensive or not nice enough condition. I finally acquired the card I have now in a trade when I was 30 or 31.
As for football, the Panthers didn't exist on the field until I was a senior in high school (1995). I was a football fan before then, but have mostly chased Panthers cards since then. This thread is about "most prized card" and I don't need to defend picking a pack-pulled premium product Brady RC over other cards. But, I do still have a 1971 Topps Joe Namath card that I got in a trade as a teenager. I don't like him or the team. I only wanted the card because it was older than me and I've held on to it since then. Now it's not even close to my oldest card overall (1889) and I have another football card that's a couple of years older than the Namath.
NASCAR didn't get national-release cards until 1988. I have many cards from that first year and all of the years since then. But nothing I own in that sport compares to my avatar.
NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now.
