Time for the Final Round in the 1st Annual Manager's Hollering Contest. Based on technique, vote for a WINNER and a RUNNER-UP.
The second round saw the elimination of Johnny Keane, Al Lopez, Wes Westrum, and Gene Mauch. Here are the post-round statements from our contestants.
Johnny Keane seemed to have trouble keeping it together, "I looked out at the audience and saw Mauch "The Pholder" and almost fell down laughing."
Al Lopez's hand-to-face technique was flawed, "Oh, a combination of arthritis and bursitis flared-up and I just couldn't get my hand in position."
Gene Mauch seemed to be having 1964 flashbacks, "It was like a living nightmare. I caught sight of Chico Ruiz and Johnny Keane pointing at me and laughing. I just...just..."Pholded".
Wes Westrum, a heavy favorite going in, lost his concentration, "I don't know what happened. I just got confused and started yodeling."
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
