Jorge Posada, Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams, Scott Brosius... start getting those guys ready because they were part of that stretch of success too.
And I know it isn't necessarily fair to do so given the different eras, but start with Babe Ruth and read through all of the retired numbers already. Then tack on Paul O'Neill. Hmmmm....

I'm a big O'Neill fan, but the number retiring has gotten totally out of control. Don't worry about triple digits, soon there will be so much advertising on the jerseys you won't be able to see a number.

That's what I liked about the Oakland Raiders...they don't retire numbers.

It probably has more to do with him being a broadcaster than a player, right? Otherwise, I can't imagine why the Yankees retire his number. But maybe I'm just biased because I also only remember O'Neill as a Red because of his most iconic play.
