It's built on the open-source Chromium browser. Same source used by Google Chrome. A serious security flaw in SafeZone was discovered last year. I don't know if they fixed it.

WOW ...... now that had me worried!! Do not use that #$^%&^ browser. I just got my computer back, it did some very weird crap and I had to delete it right off my computer and then do a restore point and a re-install to get it working again. Will be sending them a nasty memo. >(

Well now I'm using my phone to browse internet ..... still trying to fix computer .... if you use Avast and are on a pic with Windows 7 DO NOT UPDATE ...... been a terrible day for me. I have been trying to repair for almost 12 hours ..... went to Avast forums and I am not in the minority ..... have cleaned my computer of all things Avast and am now trying to find something to replace it. Grrrrrrrrr !!!!!

Got my puter back, just no email (well no virus protection for email). Using Windows protection til tomorrow, am switching to McAfee Complete Protection. Wife has it on her two laptops and is on sale at best buy for $30. Bye Bye Avast as whatever they did it backfired terribly.

Good price. I've always used AVG, Spybot, and SypwareBlaster protection. I've never had a problem. And they are all free.

Don't you just hate this. To me it's like eavesdropping/spying. "Reading" our posts and generating targeted ads. Look at the ad that was at the bottom of our forum.
