Love the new joint release US & Canada hockey stamps. Especially how the old-time player stamp is a reflection in the ice. I'm definitely ordering the souviner sheet. Maybe even the framed art with both the US and Canadian stamps.

Why is the word "Forever" crossed out? "USA For Now"?

I like those too. The "modern" one I got on a recent PWE. Didn't realize there were two stamps or that it was a joint USPS and CPS (Canadian Postal Service). I wonder if the ones sold in Canada say Canada instead of USA? And what is with the strkeout on Forever?

if you click on the click it provides a description of the stamp but doesnt specify why the Forever is lined out... it does say that it signifies USA and Canada but the origin of hockey is unknown.. so maybe thats why??? love the design though.. its pretty cool

The Forever is crossed out so people don't try to print these and put them on their envelopes.
If you ever find old images from the USPS of older stamps, they have a little black diagonal line that conveniently cuts through the price. Essentially serving as a postmark.

On most advertising I have seen by the USPS, the Forever is always crossed out. I do not know the reason.

Cool I"ll have to look for those as well. Or try getting cards from Canadians more often and demand they use the Hockey stamp. LOL
