Pete Rose could manage them
-------------------------------
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

How about Clemens, Scioscia, Mattingly, Sax, Ozzie, Boggs, Strawberry, Griffey, Canseco, and Homer Simpson?

He’d probably manage them poorly to bet against them...

That's hilarious, Billy! But I'd have to say NO on the diamond. But the Astros couldn't beat the Warriors on the court either. Who wins in a round of golf or bowling? I'd be interested in seeing that!

Great reply! And THAT TEAM got Homer Simpson in the MLB HOF!!!
I would rather replace Clemens, Strawberry and Canseco though (for obvious reasons).

Yes, the 1990s Yankees had no 50 HR hitters, heck, they made not have had a 40. But the chemistry between Posada, Brosius, Knobloch, O'Neill more than made up for that. Hitting behind the runners and taking pitches for walks. I would take that team any day.

This would make more sense if you were to say that a team of the best available free agents could beat the Astros, which I think is true.
