Clearly one of the most exciting players in any sport. If you've never seen him do yourself a favor and search YouTube. A favorite of mine even though I was never a Bears fan.

I will always remember the movie Brian's Song. I really looked up to Sayers when I was a kid.

In Sayers' 3rd year, Coach Halas wanted him to return less kickoffs and punts, thought it might help lengthen his career. So Sayers 'only' returned 3 punts, 1 for a TD, and 19 Kickoffs, 3 for TDs Yes, 19 total returns and still took 4 of them to the house...

In the early 90s Gale Sayers was at my mom's work for a speaking engagment. She said afterwards he was talking to all of the employees and he signed a photo for my mom to give to me. Really a classy guy.
