Virtually every online source I can find says he was born in Barrie, Ontario.

Every card of his I have is printed saying he was born in Ajax, Ontario.

Those are not the same place (ie for non Canadians, it is not like a suburb name or something).

Anyone know which is accurate. If it is Barrie, and all the cards are wrong, do we really want to add thousands of UER notes ?

So if that's what's also on the cards, my gut says to change his listed place of birth in the database to Ajax and consider Barrie incorrect.

NHL.com and ESPN.com (and Wikipedia) lists Barrie, Ontario as his birthplace. He played minor hockey in Barrie and Ajax. That's maybe why there's some confusion.

It is possible to be born in a hospital in one city or town, but live or grow up in another. For example, former NHL player-coach Mike Kitchen was born in Newmarket, Ontario but is from Schomberg. A small farming community NW of Toronto that does not have a hospital, Newmarket would have been the nearest place that did. On all of his bio's Newmarket is listed as birthplace. 

I don't know the circumstances surrounding Brent Burns' birth, and Barrie does have a hospital or two, but maybe for some reason his parents decided Lakeridge Hospital in Ajax was better suited for their expected delivery.
