There has been discussion in the past about this, and recently, a member put a request in through the inaccuracy link stating that they had a back that differs from the image here. I responded to it, and realized what I wrote was a combination of all the discussions that occurred previously, and which states the database's "policy" (for lack of a better term) on the lack of documenting the differing backs. A slightly edited version of my response follows:
If you wish to track the card here, your best bet will be to use the "Detailed Add" to put it in your collection (if it's already in your collection, then use the "Edit Details" function). Once on that page, state the back in the Comments section.
Reason being: Although there has been some talk about trying to document the various backs available for this set, we do know that not all cards are avialble in all backs, but we don't know the extent of that. Basically, to try to document it all, we would either miss some that exist, or create "phantom" entries (a listing for a card that doesn't exist). Either proposition is a dangerous one for the database's credibility. Additionally, all other hobby publications, and comprehensive checklists throughout the years (as far back as I can remember, and I've been in the hobby since the 1970s) have listed the cards based solely on who was on the front. We do acknowledge that some backs may cause the collectibility to go up or down (when compared to other backs, I think we can agree that all of the cards in this set are highly collectible), but we will not be cataloguing them here. By using the comments section in the details for your card (where you can also enter condition info), you can track the differing backs.

If you scan the card and on checklist page for card you click on "Add/Veiw Image" and add the scans via URL or from upload, when you call up the checklist you will see the scans you added for the card. If you have more then one it will only show image for the card you added it too not both. A link to your scan will be created to the scan when you click on small icon on checklist
When you go to the cards page you will see the sites image scan.
a place to see this in my collection is for the 1972 chris short # 665

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Almost 2 years ago, I started this thread that, surprisingly, did not generate much discussion or debate.
Well, I can now happily say that .......
What I stated is no longer true!
We now have the method for tracking the various backs. Just like with any of the other sets that have various varitions, all you need to do is submit an inaccuracy report (IR) and state which back you can confirm exists, and it will be added.
Admin has set it up so that the various backs can be filtered (the "plus sign" treatment), and I am currently updating the cards already on the checklist so that they will filter properly (I am running on the assumption that the backs shown here actually do match up to the fronts).
Any questions? Feel free to ask. I will do what I can to answer them.

Was good enough for me to understand it, and it's already added.

Awesome! As a detailed orientated person the way we handled the 206 set always kind of bugged me. Even though I was one of the guys that submitted most of the original images. That being said the T206 is heavily collected and most of the back variations are pretty well documented. When I get home I'll try to find some of the better websites that have good documentation and can post them on this thread. Another reason this in the best trading card site on the web.

This set is humongous it also has different factory backs and the sweet caporal sometimes has 2 factories and a special design to cocer one factory to put a different one on. I have some of them all but my problem is right now I don't have the time to scan the backs and my T206 set is nowhere near mint like the database wants but if your looking for fillers i can do what I can Just let me know

Wayne any back whatever the condition on a set like this is desireable and awesome. To demand "perfect" scans of cards 120 years old is ludicrouis. Whatever you got let us know and upload

Yes, what Ryan said. As I have gotten through A-G, I have noticed some where if it was a card from the last 30-40 years, I would have tagged it for replacement. With these, I didn't. Nor will I. The only way I will is if it is requested by someone with a better condition card/scan to add. Please, feel free to enter IRs for the different backs. CynicalBuddha has already entered a bunch, and I'll get to them tomorrow (Tuesday - more like later today). And once they are added, please add scans of what you have. We would prefer if the scans are added as the cards cards are added. Thanks!

All I want to add is thanks to any and everyone who's working on this set. I'll look through the ones I have in a few days to see if I can help at all.
Well done, folks.
