Other than the obvious refractor cards green, orange, gold, blue, red, purple & prism which are easy to pick up by sight. However is it me or do the base cards look nearly identical as the base refractor cards which I cannot tell apart. I know base refractors have a hue of rainbow to them but so do the base cards any tips. Topps should have added at least letter identification on the back for base refractors because I sure cannot tell them apart.

Recent ones do have "REFRACTOR" right under the card number.

Sometimes I put them on the table under bright light and look from a distance. They're usually extremely obvious that way.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Ever since Topps advertised refractors, I have found this a problem. One of the worst ideas any card company ever came up with. It is one of my pet peeves in card manufacturing. I was happy when they started actually marking the Refractors with "Refractor". In the 1994 set, I still don't know if I have any refractors.

I don't know about this specific set, but on some sets with subtle differences in the foil treatment I find it easier to see the difference when viewing the card in sunlight or in fluorescent light.
Sometimes the difference can be readily apparent in a scan even though they're not when the card is viewed directly.

Billy, could you shrink the photo, its pushing the forum to the right and being blocked by the ads.

I'm not sure how to fix that. First time I've ever posted a photo into the forum here. If I mess with it on my website (where I linked it from) I will lose the upload date and the number of times it's been viewed (I uploaded it in 2014) so I don't want to do that.
I think in the future I will just put a link, if I can figure out how.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
