Does anyone know why the '56 Shredded Wheat CFL Football set is numbered differently in the database than it is on the card itself?
I understand that the letter on the card corresponds to a team (A: Calgary Stamperders; B: Winnipeg Blue Bombers; etc.), so I understand the logic in sorting the cards by team.....but I understand the numbering rules for TCDB to be the same as it appears on the card:
"The card numbers listed on checklists should try to reflect the card numbers as they appear on the cards themselves, including any dashes, prefixes, or suffixes."
So instead of the card be numbered G8 (as it is in our database) I think it should be numbered "8G" (as it appears on the card). All other databases and publications that I have reviewed number the checklist as it appears on the card.

Admin may have a tool to switch the letters and numbers around - submit an inaccuracy report.

That tool is only available for insert/related sets - not a base set such as this.

It might be that whoever set up the checklist didn't want the numbering to look like each card had 7 variations. Just a theory.

Some of the vintage sets are hard to notice if you do not have the cards on hand for a checklist.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.
