I agree with AND disagree with several things stated in this thread. One thing I disagree with is the term "backdoored". Not everything that wasn't supposed to get out "as-is" was stolen (as backdoored seems to imply). Many card companies keep/kept a "vault" of cards to use as replacements for damaged cards, for missing cards in boxes/packs, etc. Most companies that went out of business sold those vaults to other companies or vendors to clear out merchandise for final payments to employees or to just get rid of them so that they could vacate the building they were in at the time. Pacific did it, Collector's Edge did it, Classic did it, Press Pass did it and so did some others. I pretty sure Fleer/Skybox did it too. It makes perfect sense that there would be uncut "die-cut" cards in a vault just like there would be SN'd cards without SN's on them. Many die-cut cards from the 90's would have been cut after the sheets were printed, not during the printing. Pacific and CE both sold off their vaults in chunks through auctions, not all to the same buyer. Press Pass sold their entire vault to D&A as one purchase. I have several cards from all 3 companies that are not the original pack-released version and they are also not backdoored/stolen cards.
I'm not saying the card in question here or the others from the same seller are legit, stolen or otherwise. I'm just saying that assumptions should not be made without having more info.
NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now.
