There appears to be an unknown parallel or variation to the base veteran cards. I checked the TCDB, Topps, Beckett, and Cardboard Connection websites and there is no mention of this. I bought a blaster today and noticed that 8 of the 20 veteran base cards have a distinct difference. I know this isn't related to specific cards or teams. I pulled 3 copies of card #85 (Julius Thomas) and one of them is different from the other two. Twelve of the cards #'d 1-100 have a dark-silver holofoil background, while the other 8 have a more blueish-silver holofoil background. Has anyone else noticed this? You can even see it in the scans that have already been uploaded here. I haven't submitted any of those scans yet. I want to know what the deal is with these!

i haven't busted the Plat yet, but i know the chrome had a lot of different variations as well. I think Topps really went out of their way this year with variations. I'll look into that one though, i heard rumor that this year maybe the last for football, so that may be a reason- i haven't researched that rumor tho, who knows. i can't see that happening.
Dacardworld.com stated that the vertern cards has one level of parrallel cards to following with Gold parrallels. Cardboardchecklist.com just shows the base and gold as well.

2015 IS the last year for Topps NFL products. Panini has an exclusive license for NFL cards starting with 2016 sets.
I still haven't scanned the two cards together that I mentioned before to post them here. I am still finding no info about a second parallel of the veterans.

Welp, there's another Topps product I won't have any interest in buying. Thanks for the warning.
My "I can't figure out what this card is" stack is big enough already. Many cool cards sit on my desk rather than fill binders, because I can't identify them.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Don't get me wrong. I like the look of the cards a lot. They are real flashy but with a great design. It was really well thought out. I just don't know why some appear to be a different color.

Also, I told you long ago to LMK some cards you want to know what they are. I have lots of knowledge about older parallels/reprints/odd-balls/unlicensed stuff, etc. PM me some pics, scans, links to PB or IS images or whatever. I'm betting that some of your questionable cards are cards I questioned many years ago. If it's NFL or MLB before about 2010, there's a good chance that I know what it is or know someone who does.

Thanks Spaz. My biggest issue is being colorblind. I have an awful time with parallel sets. I am going to send you a couple retail/hobby questions now though.

I still don't know what's going on with these 2015 Platinum cards though. I have watched a bunch of box breaks on YouTube (hobby and retail) and I can't see a difference in the cards they pull b/c of the way most videos are lighted or how quickly they show the base cards.

switsr1, I answered your questions on those 3 sets. I can see how being colorblind would make it hard to know the difference in those sets. I know lots of collectors who aren't colorblind and still have no idea which version they have.

I have an AR-KB #16/25 Kenny Bell AU Purple Refractor. Do I use the same 'AR' checklist upload? Also, if so, is the check list note to be AU, SN/25?Just want to make sure im understanding the process correctly and not making more work for someone else.

The checklist for the Purple is the same as the checklist for the plain AU'd refractors. Note for all should be AU, SN25.

While at one of our local Walmarts today I noticed a rack pack of 2015 Topps Platinums that also included a "Flash Parallel". Could those be what you are referring to?
