Some of the subsets flip between the MLB team and college team. Unsure which we should go with to make it consistent.

Do you mean inserts? The base set teams look correct.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Based on the "Use the team named on the card" policy, they look right to me. The cards themselves are mixed.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Based on the front images uploaded they look correct so far, a mix of MLB and college.

One of the insert sets had MLB and college teams mixed together, Prospect Ticket Autos Red Foil, was mixed together. The card I pulled (Garrett Cleavenger) was listed under University of Oregon but other cards were put under the MLB team. The front displays the college uniforms and logo, so should we go with that?

Yes. The guidelines state to go with what is on the card.

https://www.tradingcarddb.com/FAQ.cfm?ITEM=TeamDiff
- If the uniform pictured doesn't match the team listed on the card, which team goes in the database?
Sometimes when a set is released shortly after a player is traded, the card company doesn't have a picture of the player in the new team's uniform, so they use a picture of the player in their old uniform, but they'll list the new team on the card. In this case, the team listed on the card is the team that is assigned in the database.
The same thing applies to rookies pictured in their college or minor league uniform. If the player is pictured in their college or minor league uniform, but the team listed on the card is their professional team, the team that gets put into the database is the team listed on the card.
