1987 Topps Traded Baseball Forum

Here's another Topps Traded asterisk variation:

Six of the 132 scans in the database (Fisher, Harper, Pacillo, Reardon, Seitzer, Wiggins) have no asterisk so it seems the two asterisk version is much more common. I can confirm all 132 cards in my collection have two asterisks. Maybe someone out there has the full set with no asterisks to confirm the existence of the others?

Likely printing errors. Most (all?) of the Topps Traded sets of the 80's have two asterisks based on where they were produced.

The Limited Edition (Tiffany) cards don't have asterisks. All those cards you mention had the backs uploaded by the same member.

I doubted these when they turned up on a few card forums, I was certain they had to be tiffany cards. Eventually a forum member on blowout mailed me a copy of the Fred McGriff and it is definitely the base Topps Traded card without the two asterisks. 

This is not unfamiliar stuff with Topps. A similar thing happened with A and B sheet cards in 1994.
