I have a Mike Napoli 2016 Donruss Bat Kings Red (I think), numbered BK-MN, also SN199. The checklists are entered for the Bat Kings sets with standard numbers (1,2,3) which isn't how they are on the card. The Panini website shows them wrong. The serial numbering for the parallel sets is scattered. Different quantities for different players. The only scanned card in the Red set here is Matt Carpenter, and it is SN99 in the scan and SN49 on the Panini website. Throw in the fact that I'm colorblind, and the colors involved are red and green, and I just don't know what to do. I'll add the Red to my collection, scan it, and I can update the information on the card that I own. But I'll look like one of those guys who only fixes his own cards, when in fact fixing everything is not an option because the information simply isn't there. Panini has wrong info on their website. Is the consensus that I should go ahead and correct the one card that I do own, and just leave the others alone? Or should I add the Panini SN quantities for each card (I'll leave Carpenter alone since we have photo evidence that Panini is wrong)? I can go ahead and add MEM to the other cards since they have no notes at all (I want to try that new method that I haven't used yet). But I can't correct the card numbers (except Napoli and Carpenter) because I have no way of knowing what letters they used for each. I'll wait for some responses before i do anything.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

FWIW the Matt Carpenter doesn't have a scan (at least I don't see one) so there is no way to tell if the SN99 note is right or not. There is one scan for Craig Biggio that I cross-referenced with the Panini checklist and Panini matched the scan.
I also looked at a few of the cards on COMC.com and they seemed to match up with the Panini checklist. I didn't check every card, however.

Just updated the Red checklist and added the Green and Studio series ones.
Looks like the base Matt Carpenter is in the wrong set. I have filed the appropriate notification through the link.
I will be removing the SN info on the base Bat King set.
David, looks like you added your Napoli to the incorrect set as well.

I think I got all the checklists straightened out - They have MEM & SN (where appropriate) in Note and "Bat" in Note2 (for all 4 sets) The SNs are direct from Panaini's spreadsheet. BTW, I despise parallel sets that vary in SNs. :)

Admin must have moved the Carpenter and Napoli scans to the base Bat Kings set. Those two were in Red before. Now I'm more confused than ever about what exactly is "Red" about the Biggio that isn't "Red" on the Napoli and Carpenter cards.

I'm more confused than ever now. The checklists are updated for serial numbers, per the Panini website, by Dan. My Napoli, which is numbered SN199, and which I believe to be Red in color, matches up to the Red checklist, which also shows Napoli as SN199. But my scan has been moved to the non-SN Bat Kings Base set. My card is definitely 34/199, and I think that is clear in the scan. Why is it moved, and why does Dan say I had it in the wrong set?
I think we have multiple people editing these checklists at the same time, and using opposing information. Dan also stated that he would be removing the SN notes from Bat King Base, but at the time of my original message, there were no SN notes in Bat King Base. Did somebody add numbers, and somebody else remove them, while I was cleaning my house and eating lunch?

I just looked at the cards on COMC. Scanners stink. I also looked at several on ebay. Cameras work better on these.
The foil on the bottom where the name is, the frame around the photo, and the crown are what is used in determining the color (it appears). Scanners all seem to pick it up as a dark gray/black/hard to tell color. However, it appears that the serial numbering correlates with Panini's stats. So, that being the case, the "base" Bat Kings are non-SNed. Red, Green, & Studio are SNed, but they vary by player. Red maxes out at 199, Green at 99, and Studio at 25. I think we have all of that info correct here now, so scans should match up with the info in the checklists.
Only issue we have now is the card numbering. They all are BK-??, but ?? is not numbers. Sometimes it's the players initials, sometimes, it's not (Matt Carpenter is BK-MA, not BK-MC as would be expected). I'm willing to do a quick run through on COMC and ebay to see what I can find. Looks like it would change for all 4 sets. So find it for one set and propagate it through all of them. If you can think of any other sites that you can snag the "numbers" from, help me out.

I wasn't trying to pawn that part off on you Dan. I'm just questioning why my Napoli scan and the Carpenter scan were moved to a set that we all can agree is not serial-numbered. Thank you for your help on these, by the way. Sometimes I assume that these color variations are easily identified by everyone but me, but I guess some may not even be apparent to color-sighted people when scanned foil is involved.

I'll help out on these. I see you started at the top of the set, so I will start at the bottom. Thanks again Dan.

No problem! I enjoy working on the little mysteries like these. Looks like there were 5 cards we couldn't find proof of card number.
There are 2 that we didn't verify 100% - Miggy & A-Gon. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that they are BK-MC & BK-AG, respectively. Hence the Matt Carpenter was BK-MA, and not BK-MC (although they duplicated BK-JB!). Gotta love Panini. (Or not.)
