This set is listed as a 2016-17 set, but every insert or parallel I have clicked on simply says 2016 in the set title? Is it likely the base set name got updated when someone realized there were High Numbers but the others were missed. Or is it correct as is?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

2016-17 makes no sense. And all the packaging has just 2016.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Because it has insert sets, we cannot update the year. Please enter an IR so we can send it to Admin to fix. Thanks.

According to cardboardconnection a series 2 update was released in June of 2017 that included a 1:1 mix of series 2 and series 2 update cards. The update numbering begins at #247 and continues through the end of the set.

My opinion, regardless of which is correct, is that the inserts should match the base. Otherwise, on any pid checklist screen, the base is the last card listed, after its matching parallels, because 2016-17 comes after 2016.

I wonder if it is some sort of bug that the insert sets didn't get updated when the base set was updated. AFAIK, there is no way to have insert sets be listed under a different set name than what the base is titlted.

I would say that the whole set is 2016-2017. I haven't reviewed all the insert sets but it looks like a lot of them (if not all) were continued with the update set. It looks like even a few new ones were introduced.

To be clear, I don't own any of these cards. Not the sort of thing I typically care about. I was just creating some PIDs while waiting in my car for my McRib, when I noticed that nobody seemed to have a base card, until I looked at the bottom of their lists.

So what is the consensus here, so I can enter IRs, based on Chad's additional information? Do I need to submit one for each insert and parallel set, to change them to 2016-17? Or would one IR do the trick? I've never dealt with changing a year before.

I believe the consensus is that the McRib is awesome!
