I feel for you, not being able to differentiate very similar colors. But do you not have a family member or friend that could at least tell you if they are all the same coloror ifthere are some that are different? They don't have to be interested in card collecting but if someone gave them to you for Xmas, I would think it was not to intentionally frustrate you. Unless they came from Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada (name of individual will remain unnamed).

I was going to start a forum griping about how I couldn't tell if I had a stack of copper or gold cards from this set. Then I thought I would see if there was already a forum about them. How about that. And yes, it's that same stack from Christmas 2017. I wouldn't be surprised if I quit collecting for a while after this. Otherwise I probably would have replied to Bruno about suspicious packages from Lloydminster!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The Golds were 1 per retail pack. Copper were 1 per hobby pack. Pretty sure the Wal-Mart packs had 1 gold and 1 red per pack.

Trauty, you may have saved the day, because I have a stack of about equal size of reds. So maybe mine are gold after all.

Slightly off topic, but this is one of my grumpy old man pet peeves about cards/card companies. It's bad enough that they make half a jillion parallel versions of something and issue dozens of different products under the same company name, but why, why, why can't they label things so an average person can tell what they are? Are they ashamed of the crap they put out or just totally clueless?

Totally agree. The worst was the Finest Refractor sets when they first came out in 1994. They were so difficult that in later years they actually did label them. I still can't tell a Refractor from the original issue in 1994.

Billy I'll probably just bring one to work and ask a woman. It's almost impossible for a woman to be colorblind.
Also, I agree that the first year of baseball refractors were harder to recognize than any subsequent issue. I think Bruno was referring to that year specifically.
