I know there are zillions of these in print and they are considered "junk" cards because of the numbers made, but I love the design (the front more so than the back) of this set of cards. Be even better if there were team logos on the front, but not a big deal.

I'm going to take a guess that this set was one of the first sets designed with early graphic design software. The design is big upgrade in typesetting on the team and player names from the 1988 set. Just a hunch.

The 1989 design is my second favorite 1980s Topps design. 1981 is my favorite. ------------------------------- *Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.*

I, too really like the '89 design. Probably my 3rd favorite of the '80s behind '83 and '81. I think it's a relatively underappreciated decade of cards as a whole. I think the most highly touted, '87, is actually my least favorite.
