Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

It was Admin that suggested (directed? maybe) a separate listing by year; "Buybacks 1986 Topps", "Buybacks 1987 Topps", etc.
I'm hating these buybacks even more with all the trouble they cause cataloguing them.

Actually, I was thinking a separate checklist for each color stamp, so 5 checklists in 2017. I think there is an unknown number of inserts and unknown number of versions of each color. I have no idea if #433 1988 Topps was stamped in multiple colors or just one. I have no idea if there are any other #433 1988 Topps in Silver foil stamp even.
I do think this is a great place to try to at least capture/document as many as we can though. What other place is better? Thanks for all the great ideas and help. These buybacks are very slippery!

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I hate buybacks! I even hate the term buybacks, as it seems like the "buybacks" from Fleer Pasttime were just extra autos laying around. Fleer should have called them "Leftovers". If the card companies want to package buybacks, give me the unaltered original.

I was thinking if nothing else the card numbering could include the year as a prefix. Like 88-456 or 1988-456, because if we just keep adding to the checklist there are going to be more than one card with the same card number eventually. Or the insert could be broken up by year, what ever. Thoughts?
