Hi,
Just looking for some clarification on what the variation is----can the eagle be either blue or black, or is it referring to the circle underneath, or both? It appears in one scan that the circle may be black, while the other could be blue. It's hard to tell. Thanks!

The current scans don't really show the difference that well and we probably need a larger resolution update so zoom works, but the difference is the shading of the eagle's wings. One is black, the other is black with a blue tint.

Thanks. I couldn't tell a difference at all from the scans here. I looked for some online, and one looked like it had some blue that filled in the white space a bit in the wings above "-can" in "American". Is that correct?

These aren't VARs. Look at the whole card; background, skin. It's just an inking issue. Looks like one missed the cyan step.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

When I first saw this post yesterday I thought the same, printing issue. I agree with C2C.

Not sure how much it makes it legitimate, but Beckett does recognize the card as having a black & blue versions.

If the Gypsy Queen "missing black plate" parallels count, then shouldn't all printing variations, assuming there there are a large enough number that is.

One's an intentionally produced parallel and one's a production flaw. Not to say some might not want to chase it

If this was applied across the board, the Frank Thomas NNOF card would also fall under the "production flaw" category.

True. Just pointing out the Gypsy Queens are apples/oranges
