Until recently, I had never heard of these.  I bought one on COMC (one more for the Maddux collection) and was wondering if anyone had any and would they work in today's computers with all the advancements (software and hardware, not if they would fit into a computer).  I get tempted to open things up and am curious what all is on the disk.  I don't want to open it and I can't get it to work.

 

Has anybody chased or completed the set?  They made some for other sports too I see.

 I had one.   Couldn't get it to work on my PC.   So I did the next best thing,  sold it on Ebay.

Nice article, thanks.  I think I might find a cheap one first and try it out, then if it works I'll open the Maddux.  If it does work I might buy a second one too.  I think its an interesting concept that could work well still today.  I know most of the info is available on the net already, but load the disc with video highlights, maybe some interviews (especially if its retired players), there are quite a few ideas.

I know most people would probably know or realize this, but due to the size of these, they will only work in the tray-style cd/dvd drives, NOT the slot load. If you try putting it in a slot load, good luck retrieving it. IIRC, we played the Yzerman one we have. It had about 30 seconds or so of highlight video. Maybe a little more, but it wasn't much. Enjoy it!

Yeah, I ruined a slot load hard drive on an old computer of mine when these came out. Be real careful.
