There seems to be a whole host of different cards that came out of the purple/pink jumbo (ppj) packs. Apparently, they were printed and packaged at a completely different facility.
Several months ago, a very generous member sent me a set made from the ppjs. The set I have had since 1991 is made from standard wax packs.
I just compared the 2 Jerry Browne cards and that is where the difference comes from.
Now, although in this case, the cards can be considered Error and Corrected (since the error was the word "is" missing the dot in the "i", and it was dotted in the other version), most of the cards simply have variations (nothing wrong with one version or the other).
I have held off even looking at the set due to the reaction from members when the 1991 Donruss set was amended to include the different versions. (I honestly thought there might be a revolt if another set was amended in the same fashion.)
It appears that if we add this card, we're going to need to investigate each card in the ppjs. This may create a VAR pairing or ERR/COR pairing for nearly every card (from the reports I have heard).
I have added the Jerry Browne corrected card:
https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/155/cid/13566932 (as [b] version).
I have updated the listing that was there to be the ERR version and numbered as the [a] version.
If I open the 2 sets I have here, this may create a lot more like this.
