A couple months ago, I did some editing on this set, replacing the Hs and Rs with As and Bs and putting the corresponding hobby/retail descriptions in the notes. But this set still bugged me, since I wan't very confident that the designations were correct, as there is a lot of conflicting info out there as to which variations were from hobby packs, and which were from retail. (And some of my own cards, which I was reasonably sure came from the same place, were marked Hobby while others were Retail).
I'd been looking for awhile for unopened packs, and finally found some at the right price (about 75 cents each). They are all retail packs, so I can 100% confirm 16 of the 25 variations.
RETAIL
101 - Jose Reyes (fielding)
104 - Mark Teixeira (running)
105 - Orlando Hudson (swinging)
106 - Drew Henson (fielding)
107 - Joe Mauer (blue chest protector)
108 - Carl Crawford (batting)
109 - Marlon Byrd (fielding)
111 - Miguel Cabrera (fielding)
113 - Jerome Williams (glove at chest)
114 - Walter Young (batting stance)
116 - Chris Duncan (glove below knees)
117 - Franklin Gutierrez (number visible on front of jersey)
121 - Wayne Lydon (three people in background)
122 - Daryl Clark (looking at camera)
124 - Andy Marte (follow through on throw)
125 - Matthew Peterson (two feet on ground)
I am also reasonably sure in the following:
HOBBY
102 - Ed Rogers (swinging)
103 - Hank Blalock (swinging)
104 - Mark Teixeira (swinging)
109 - Marlon Byrd (batting)
110 - Jason Stokes (swinging, bat low)
111 - Miguel Cabrera (swinging)
113 - Jerome Williams (glove above head)
116 - Chris Duncan (glove above knees)
117 - Franklin Gutierrez (Number visible on back of jersey)
119 - Manuel Ramirez (hands visible)
120 - Il Kim (one foot on bench)
That leaves the four others that I am still not too sure of:
112 - Wilson Betemit
115 - Juan Camacho
118 - Adam LaRoche
123 - Sean Pierce
So if anyone has good evidence as to which of those goes where, please speak up.
Thanks,
Josh
