Bob,
I thought the blacklight thing was a way to tell when certain cards were counterfeit, but apparently it was only for a specific set that was being countergeited... Dang now let me do a quick search...ah apparently it is used to identify reprints or counterfeit cards for certain aged vintage cards..apparently newer types of cardstock and paper shows differently under blacklight than the original cardboard..

Admin transferred all of the VAR: Dark Logo cards into the parallel set. But it is 57 cards short of the real number of cards in the set. I have asked them how I can insert all of the missing cards, offering them a checklist in excel if they wish. Eventually, I will upload the rest of the immages I have of those missing images, about 130 scanned, and just needing ot be cropped to be ready for upload. Either later todya or early tomorrow morning because after that I am off to Ottawa for a card show. It will then have to wait till Tuesday morning.

OK...not blind, I can definitely see the difference between dark and light logos. lol.
However, then what set?, what cards? did I read the blacklight post. I know I read it here and thought it referred to '90s cards.
Any help?

It was me making reference to the 1991 Topps cards. You don't need the blacklight to tell the difference between the cards, but the dark logo cards do glow under the blacklight because of the ink that was used. Just a useless fun fact.

It is finally complete. The last 57 cards were added to the checklist by Admin on Sunday. I have loaded images of every card I have; there are 27 cards missing the images if someone wants to see if they can help complete it to the gallery. I have also added my collection, my wantlist and my for sale / trade list for those interested in trading. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Good job. I hope you'll take the lead on these and keep on eye on them so no "light logos" get uploaded. When I took the lead on uploading the 1990 Topps FB "no disclaimer backs" members kept uploading "disclaimer backs". Luckily I was able to get the "replace scans" permission but it still took awhile to get all the correct backs uploaded.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

C2, doing one of these "projects" that involves major alterations to an already submitted set makes one realize the work members such as yourself take on trying to correct this site's database. I encourage all to do their share where permissions allow or advise Admin of inaccuracies. I know there are many more out there.
Hopefully the last 27 images get uploaded soon but accurately.

I am glad this sub-set was created, I am also surprised that it wasn't noted that besides the color difference, light logo's are lighter than the background behind player names & dark logos are darker than the back ground behind names (helps weed out actual printing color issues), but the dark logos actually have a cirled R registration at the upper right of the logo and the light logo's do not seem to. I have tried to find evidence under magnification of the lighter color circled R registrations without success.

The (R) could have been there - if you notice, the border of the Topps logo on the dark logo version is the same as the (R). On the light logo version, the border is the same color as the background, therefore the (R) would also be the same color as the background, thus getting obscured. But, because of that, yes, using that as your guide, if you see the (R), you have a dark logo card.
