I don't have much to say about this set, in particular. Although, the lettering is really tough to read, as the picture of the card on this thread indicates. Can't say I loved this set.
But I was intrigued/somewhat taken aback by all the trouble the lack of #7 caused you. All my sets are in binders. I happen to keep them organized by teams, but if they were in numerical order, I'd either put in a filler notecard for #7, or ignore the situation.
Maybe I'm a "realistic completist." I have not and will not go back to get the replacement sevens. And I'm not buying the Gordon, either. But I consider all those sets complete. In fact, I may have been the person to get this site to list this set as having 659 cards, because the Gordon really shouldn't be included. I guess I'm a completist enough that it bugged me to see that I had 99.8% of the set.
