Donruss promises their deepest checklist this year. I wonder if that only covers the years under the Panini banner, or if this will have more than 792 they had in 1993. I would go for a set with ALL the players. And that's roughly 750 active players on any given day.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Oh, can't wait!! Can't wait for an even larger set of non-logo cards with designs that seem, well, off. But, hey that's me

They aren't for everyone. I blame MLB for the absence of logos, not Panini. It's not like they don't want the license.

True that. Logos or no logos I think Panini's Donruss is an acquired taste, one I didn't acquire. I've bought a handful of packs over the last few years and they just don't seem right to me. The first hobby box I bought after coming back to the hobby in '17 was the '13 Pinnacle. I didn't know about the license thing yet, but I still found myself underwhelmed.

750 players another 60 for managers and team cards. 9 checklists cards. That leaves you 81 cards to do record breakers, playoffs, and any other subsets you want to put in there.
900 cards. To me that would be the perfect set

Being Donruss, they need 30 spots for Diamond Kings!

I came back into the hobby in 2017 as well. I absolutely like the clean, no nonsense look to the Donruss sets now. A little game I play, is "try to find the logos" usually fans in the back ground or a bench coach facing sideways doesn't have the logo on their sports apparel fully photoshopped out!

According to Cardboard Connection, it's 250 cards.

Yep...I just dug this up to say the same thing, but you beat me to it. I assume you share my disappointment.

I love their Diamond Kings series over the years. it's a taste I acquired from the '90 set and will be adding the rest to my Want List from back when they started through any of the others they have out.
