thanks Ed! Yeah, a couple of these I just don't have at all, missing about 100 cards from the set across the two series. I'd still love to see some uncut sheets of these to see why the variations were usually, but not always, 6 cards apart.

Done.  Sorry...thought I had done that already.

After adding all the VARs, I checked my own set that I bought in September 2007 to see which versions I had out of curiosity, and interestingly I have the "Series 2" version of every card listed above (including #75 Wakefield and #165 Cano), along with the regular "Series 1 Baseball" version of #66 Ortiz and #74 Papelbon, so I still have no theories on how the variations were distributed.

I'm pretty sure all the 07s I bought were retail. Most of the base set I'm still missing is from Ser 1 so maybe I'll track down a hobby box and bust it, see what I find. My guess is they probably released the errors across all packaging and corrected late in the run? Hard to say.

I bought my set in 2019 and have the exact same variations as you Ed.

163 Jeter - "Series 1 Baseball" and "Baseball Series 1"

IR was put in earlier today, I added the card, then checked my Jeter in my HOF binder and had the one I added (changed my collection info).

...and now the fun begins.  If anyone actually has the 'Series 1 Baseball' or 'Baseball Series 1' versions, please hit me up for trades.  Currently for the 100 new identified variations, I have all that say 'Series 2 Baseball'.  Just when I was running out of variations to chase...
