I don't really have a dog in this fight (don't collect Stadium Club), and I'm moving past the birthdate thing, which is not the point of the original post. But I'm confused by a statement that foiling issues aren't considered errors. In this case, there are a certain number of these cards that are stamped incorrectly, ie with "1991 N.L. All-Star" and some number with "1991 World Series". An eBay search turns up equal numbers of listings for both cards. This would not seem to be a simple foiling error (ie foil is missing) but an actual error that was later corrected.
I can see the slippery slope here (well, if a foil strike was missed, that was an error that was later corrected), but again to me this seems like something where they would've had to have made a conscious decision to change the foil that was being printed on the card. Can someone explain further?
Always looking for baseball variation/error cards and anything Garrett Whitley or Ian Anderson
