A big shoutout to vrooomed for getting the '91 Upper Deck "Text" Hologram Backs parallel all square. He was very helpful in getting the 193 scanned back images from the base set to the parallel set.
Thanks Dan!

SDC, you navigated, I was just the hired driver. :)
It was a team effort with thanks to member The_Megan, who also helped get this ball rolling. I'm glad it looks to all be correct (at least what's there). We did our best to move images, and not deleete them. This now means there are several cards now missing scans in both sets. Please be sure to add the scans to the correct set. The hologram shapes are the same, it's what is in the hologram that varies. there are the UD diamonds in the normal base set, and then the one with just text in it, which reads "UPPER DECK" (in all caps) that is the "parallel" set.
I do want to hop on my soap box for a minute. I promise it will be brief.
This happened because of a couple reasons:
- Someone entered an inaccuracy report on the set knowing it was too much for them to handle
- Someone else, knowing they didn't have expertise in the subject area, requested someone else's help
Ask for help. Sometimes, it does take several people to accomplish a task here, but we can do it! Thanks.

Cool, now I have a reason to revisit the '91-'92 UD Basketball set .... :-) I wonder if UD did all this hologram stuff "intentionally just to get collectors to spend more in order for us to complete all the various sets .. Quite the marketing ploy if so....

Thanks for the hard work to everyone involved! Those '91-92 UD holograms are a pain and an annoyance across all sports.

Just finished re-entering my '91-'92 UD Basketball set . Previously had 400 in the "original"set . ,now have something like 341 but also have some 176 in the parallel set once I searched through all my dupes. Started with 900 cards all total and approx 76% fell into the UD "diamond" logo variety. Guess that just bumped up my wantlist for that set.

I was just going through my 91-92 Upper Deck cards and found that the majority of them have the "UPPER DECK" text in the diamond hologram rather than the logo in the diamond hologram. Pardon my ignorance but are we sure that this is a genuine "parallel" set rather than just variations?
The weird thing I'm noticing about the ones I do have with the "UPPER DECK" text is that they ALL came from a box that I opened a while back, while the ones I have with the logo hologram came from trades or stuff I've had since the early 90s. It seems unlikely that a box would contain only parallel cards but much more likely that it could contain all variation cards, especially given how minor and seemingly unintentional this variation is.
I don't see any other information about these being a part of a parallel set so I'm hoping someone here can educate me on why that's how they are listed on tcdb. Thanks. Right now I'm feeling too lazy to adjust my collection but might do it at some point...

Adding parallel sets is a lot easier than adding variations of every card in the set. Some of our members prefer parallels over variations, even if the cards are ore variations than parallels. I think they were added as such simpy for the ease of it.

I'll start by saying that I really don't care much about the hologram differences in these '90's UD sets. But, since I was going through my boxes anyway, I thought I'd add the correct versions to my trade list in case someone else wanted certain ones. I came up with about 80% of them with the Upper Deck diamond logo, and the other 20% were the Upper Deck text versions. Now here's the part where the "variation haters" are reminded to not shoot the messenger... I also found 1 card (#356 Kevin Johnson) with the '90 Crossed Hockey sticks hologram. I don't know how many other cards have this variation (and frankly don't care if they are listed or not), but if anyone is looking for this version, I've got one to trade.
