2003-04 Bowman Basketball Forum

Some sites list the James and other rookies from the Chrome parallel set as RC. I started to collect the set and also collect true rookie cards and I was under the impression that Bowman Chrome and Bowman were sold separatly. Does anyone remember or knows 100% if Chrome is really just a parallel set? In that case I would not consider any of the Chrome rookies "true" RCs.

Bowman and Bowman Chrome were not sold separately. They were marketed and sold as two brands in one pack, Bowman and Bowman Chrome cards shared the same packs and boxes. Beckett does not consider Bowman Chrome a parallel set.

Thank you. I have never heard of any other set or sets like this until now. I think I am going to go for Chrome. Too bad I have more from the regular. That would also mean there are no insert sets in Chrome other than the parallel and short prints. That is old school.
