Does anyone know what the odds are on getting a hot box? I bought a hobby box today and it ended up being a hot box. Made me wonder.

Are you going to be putting the set together?

No. I will keep some, such as the Yankees. The rest I will throw in my random boxes. If you want to trade for some let me know.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a hot 🔥 box?

Allen and Ginter Hot Boxes have all the base cards with a foil type finish. Not quite shiny like "chrome". There are other products that have hot boxes with extra autos, relics or parallels. A&G is usually 1 a case or so. 

I’m somewhat new to all this collecting and the diff options between hangers, blasters, mega, hobby etc. I’ve actually pulled a couple autos out of blasters but had less luck on hobby’s. 
 

I thought, in addition to the promised relic/autos, I’d pull some good parallels. I’ve bought a couple heritage, some archives. And at the end it didn’t look like much beyond a more “common” insert every few packs, basically on par w blasters. I’m looking for the Ernie Banks Let’s play 2 set from heritage 2020. I thought a hobby would be my best chance to score at least a few out of the total set. I got 1, in the last card pack I ripped from the bottom of the pile. 
 

So now I see pre orders for Archives 23 at $120-$150. Do I bite the bullet and try to get cool stuff out of an early issue hobby or just find cheap blasters and trade?  Interested in your more experienced advice. Thanks. R
