So the Master Photos Winners set is actually all the Redemption Cards by the looks of it, should they all get the RED note? If the last question gets a yes, do all of the Master Photo cards get the EXCH note?? Help would be appreciated.

I thought that RED and EXCH both designated the same thing, a card that was redemeed or exchanged for something. If that is the case, winner or exchange cards don't need a Note. It should be clear in the naming of the set or card.

Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

Oh ..... I never thought of it that way before. I thought RED was for the redemption card and EXCH was for the card recieved. If RED and EXCH are the same I guess we may as well put one to rest. Why use two?

I'm not sure I've seen notation on Redeemed/received cards from winning. As reakins points out, they are usually released in "set" form (or at least they are a separate set and one may have received a portion of that set) so the naming of the set gives it away - just as if there was a League Leaders insert set, "LL" does not go on each card (only useful in subset context). Same would go for an entire set of EXCH cards. That's only useful info when EXCH cards were issued in addition to the "regular" cards from that particular set (think AU inserts). RED does not equal EXCH, but RED is not a needed A/A.

Lots of hockey sets use the EXCH note for cards that need to be redeemed to own. The good old white cardboard card with the typed info sticker and the scratch area, those I have seen very few checklists for. A few cards I have seen already tho had the RED for a note when they were listed as a single card in the Inserts. I can understand not using RED in a stand alone set that is titled correctly. And I understand the idea that EXCH is to be used for redeemed cards. Just not sure it has the same meaning to all the members. As is the case with Billy above. That is why I think we need to have a black and white to what the rules will be concerning RED and EXCH. Make sense? Hope so.
On a final note, should the set that brought this up be titled differently then? Maybe Master Photo Redemption Cards? Winners to me is just not clear enough. I was confused at first.

The Master Photos (large) were issued both as box toppers (one per box), as well as in exchange for the Winner cards (3 Master Photos per Winner card). The cards "won" are specified on the Winner cards.
