I bought this one card along with a few other items from center ice collectibles and it is exactly like the regular set except it measures 2 7/8 x 3 7/8 ......... it is the Ranford of course and is numbered the same (29), both the front and back have a white border and I do believe it was sold as a proof. Looks like it is listed as a 270 proof set at center ice so should it be added to the DB?

These are simply put - cards from uncut sheets that were cut larger. The excess was not trimmed. Not issued by the card company. It's like the aftermarket 1/1 stamp. Don't expect to see them listed here. Don't expect to see much support in getting them listed here.
(And just so you don't think I'm just being a dork about this, I have several of these, so scanning and adding wouldn't be a problem - it's just that Admin has specified certain items don't belong here - and this se4ems to be one of them. Personally, I love these items, but agree - there is no determining what exists and what doesn't.)

LOL I would never call you a dork ........ Are uncut sheet cards larger than regular ones? This card is not just a untrimmed regular card. If you measure the photo size (not including the white border) it is still larger than a regular card. Like it has been enlarged just enough to notice its bigger. Anotherwords if I were to trim off the white border it still would NOT fit in a penny sleeve. I wish I could show an image of them side by side.

I know exactly what you're talking about as I have a few of them myself. Usually, these are the "full-bleed" style cards and it allows the manufacturer to have some wiggle room in the cutting. Instead of printing them on the sheet so close together like the "old days" where basically it was a single cut line between the cards (hence the reason on say the 1974 Topps baseball cards, if they are miscut, you see the card next to it from the sheet), they now add this extra room, also to allow for the full bleed photos. So instead of 12 cards across on the sheet, they probably have 8 or 9. If you look at the area a single card takes on the uncut sheet, yes, it takes up more than the 2.5" x 3.5".

Crap ......... I paid $12.00 with shipping for this thing!! =( ............ And its just another hunk of cardboard, I hate mis-information. I am starting to question the site that I buy this stuff from. Its the same site that has the 97-98 Donruss Canadian Ice "Player's Club" cards as well. Glad I have held out on that one so far, however they are listed on the DB as being an actual set. Confusing!!

Not sure what this "player's club" is - I have my own checklists for hockey and there is nothing in the 97-98 DCI set that was Player's Club. Maybe another after-market thing (or back door).
Oh, and I paid about $1 to $3 for the extra large cards I have. They are a novelty. They're cool in the collection, but if they were a lot, I'd pass on them.

I remember Telly Savalas doing a commercial for a "Player's Club" card. Not sports related at all. It was just supposed to get you extra benefits at restaurants and hotels. So every time I see that phrase "Player's Club", I laugh.
