So, I just received this sealed team set and I opened it to confirm that it was, in fact, the set with the monotone green backs that I was expecting, and it was! I proceeded to check the set over, and much to my dismay, the #10 card was missing! Now I find myself questioning whether I should open all of my other sealed Minor League team sets to make sure that all cards are there.
Opinions?

Why do you have the cards?
To save to sell? Keep them sealed.
To enjoy having them? Open them up, put them in pages or sleeves and look at them, read them, enjoy them.

I usually open up the ones I keep and put them in sheets. If i plan on trading them off I will leave them sealed.

That happened to me recently with a minor league set. Definitely a bummer when you but a set thinking it's complete and it not be. At least with me it had the jon Lester in the set

I used to buy sets because there was one or more players I needed for a project I was working on.
Ie for the physical version of this list

A Dan Rohn card would be a white whale. Virtually I'm using the Tribune's MLB Cubbies set, but chances are I would had to go and buy an Iowa Cub set, just for that one card.
So yeah, if I bought a sealed one, it would have been opened up ;)

If you plan on selling singles, then definitely open the sets. I've sold a few cards on Sportlots as singles from a team set because I had the sealed team set, only to have the same thing happen, and have to refund the buyer. I open them all, now, since I never sell whole sets (just too lazy to list them).

Thanks for your input everyone - the sets are for my Blue Jays collection so I think I will open them up and enjoy them (and make sure they are all there!).

I always open sets and double check to make sure everything is there. I have had more then a few factory incomplete sets that I had to finish myself
