Sorting thru my boss's cards, and I just came across a glossy 1980 Topps Bake McBride. Now I don't actually think a tiffany set exists, but can anyone explain what i might have found? Back seems identical to others. Front reminds me of the gloss of a mail-in all star set. Has some yellowing like my 1988 Tiffanys have. Surface scratches remind me of a box-bottom card. Not at home, not my card, so unable to scan. Any ideas?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

You'll have to send it to me for me to tell you exactly what it is.

Your boss used baseball cards to mask the windows on his Trans-Am when he clear coated it back in the day

I've actually considered the possibility that it was in an album or penny sleeve which either melted or got wet.

That’s a possibility. Is it the only one you’ve found?

Topps Presentation set issue, perhaps? I recall some of the 60s sets of those having a glossier than normal surface, but not quite Tiffany like. Don't know how recently they were made.

So the boss has you sorting cards at work. Is she good looking or are you looking for a promotion?
And your "It is a Philly" post was not necessary after Dan had asked you to mail it to him. What else would it have been, a Blue Jays card?

He's donating a bunch of cards to a charity auction. I'm helping him organize.

I'll bet it's a Burger King card taken from a store display.
