Does anyone have any ideas as to the rarity of the white versus gray back for this set, or for that matter why there were two different colour backs?

The grey backs are rarer.  They seem to have been produced and distributed to a more local region than the white backs which were distributed across Canada.  I have the complete set of the white backs but there are still some 37 grey backs that I have not been able to find.

Of the one gray back I have I have only seen one other, over the same time period I have seen more than 100 of the same card with the white back

The odd thing (and that is why I believe it was a local issue) I have some that I only have grey backs to trade as I have the one white back in my set.
