If they had a license, absolutely! Without a license - ehh. I do like the nod to past Donruss designs that they are incorporating.

Agreed with Splinter - can't see value or enjoyment without that license. It's a shame MLB is not more favourable to the industry or collectors/fans. It would breath new life into the business.

Oh shoot, I didn't realize it was an unlicensed release. Not as exciting anymore.

All but Topps produced products will be unlicensed releases. MLB extended its edxclusive deal with Topps through 2020.
The players association though is the one making agreements with the other companies. But they arent allowed to show any MLB logos and such.

Thanks for the heads up on the exclusive deal with Topps. I was so disappointed when I realized the Triple Play cards I got earlier this year didn't have a licensing deal. I stopped buying anymore.
What are the exclusive brands in the other sports? I assume Panini has the basketball license. Though my plan is to stop buying packs next year and only complete sets or single cards, I might get a random pack or two.

Hi guys, now that its been a few years with Donruss unlicenced what do you think about their sets?
I have to say Im still disappointed about the license issue but I believe their sets have been nice. Good quality cards, good mix of rookies, current and retired players and their Optic versions are nice too. If you like parallel sets they have a ton also... I have been a Donruss fan since I first got my hands on a couple Diamond Kings of 1985!!

Can't stand unlicensed. No logos or unique uniform details, no team names. A bunch of generic looking, nameless, teamless images.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
