2009 Donruss Rookies & Stars Football Forum

I have a 2009 Donruss Rookies & Stars card #195 of Tony Fiammetta (Carolina Panthers). The problem is that it's either missing a serial number or missing foil OR the wrong color. My card looks EXACTLY like the regular R&S cards, but it has no SN on the back (should be SN999). The only other cards from the set that don't have SN's are the Retail Gold parallel. My card is black on the front where the gold should be for the Retail Gold cards. I don't know if the Golds are foil or just a gold color instead of black color. It is NOT a Longevity version either. How do I list this card in my collection? Does anyone else have one like this from the same set?

The Fiammetta RC looks just like my Everett Brown RC (#150) card from the base set, except for the missing SN on the back!

the gold retail should have that gold tint on the front or back .. you may want to look real closely where the SN should be stamped and look for the number indents on the card. i had a couple card with no SN's on it, drove me crazy and after looking really close, you could see where the stamped numbers were and had came off. But for that set, the Longevity parallel and Longevity set are also numbered. the Score and Donruss Classics are the only sets with him in the same pose and you could tell the difference on them.

Yeah, I've looked closely many times and there isn't even a hint of foil or indentation on the card anywhere. Since you've had some without the SN, I'm just going to list it as the base card and move on (just like I did on Beckett years ago when I got it). It is exactly the same as my other rookie cards from the base set, except for the missing SN on the back. Thanks for replying, Tony.

On COMC, they have a Retail Rookie parallel set. Looks like there are some regular SN999 RC's mixed in. But there are plenty that don't have the serial numbering on the back. Also looking through the Retail Gold images on this site, I came across #179 P.J. Hill. Also looks to have the missing SN999 on the back and the gold on the front. The user who submitted that card also has the base RC with the SN999 on the back.
