Detroit Red Wings By The Sweaterby Detfan6897 - 81 cards (Last updated on Nov 22, 2021) |
3. 1954-55 Topps #27 Marcel Pronovost
#3 A top defenceman, Pronovost was named to four post-season NHL All-Star Teams and played in 11 All-Star Games. He was a member of four Stanley Cup championships with the Red Wings, the first in 1950, and won a fifth title with the Maple Leafs in 1967. Pronovost inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1978. |
4. 1951-52 Parkhurst #55 Leonard “Red” Kelly
#4 Red was one of main reasons Detroit would gain so many cups Interesting note I found He played on more Stanley Cup winning teams (eight) than any player who never played for the Montreal Canadiens, and is the only player to have never played for the Canadiens to be part of two of the nine dynasties recognized by the NHL in its history. |
5. 1991-92 Score Rookie and Traded #71T Nicklas Lidstrom
#5 The Perfect Human. was known for his durability. He played for the Red Wings for 20 years and won four Stanley Cups with the Wings. He won three Norris trophies in a row for the first time since Bobby Orr, and had seven total in his career. His nickname harkens to his mistake free hockey that was seen day in and day out during his long career. |
6. 1952-53 Bedard & Donaldson (Anonymous) Juniors #8 Cumming Burton
#6 rarely used jersey number with Cummy being the pick for this one Late 50's RW no card issued with Detroit, not much playing time due such a strong lineup |
8. 1996-97 Pinnacle #74 Igor Larionov
#8 was the final piece of the Russian 5 puzzle. The oldest and most experienced, Larionov was a member of the great Red Army Team from the Soviet Union. But it was his calm demeanor and calculated thinking that earned him his nickname. The Professor, key to return of the Stanley Cups to Hockeytown |
10. 1958-59 Topps #52 Alex Delvecchio
#10 "Fats" due to the Baby Fat face he had as young player joining the Wings famed Production Line II with Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay |

#73 Adam Erne #84 Jake Chelios #95 Danny Markov Some hall of famers passed through Detroit that could be argued were better, but not as a Wing.

In Bob Probert's book "Tough guy" Chelios called him (Probert) and asked if it would be cool for him to wear #24 after being dealt to the Wings. Respect: earned not given. |
