Presidents of The United States of America by stevejrogers Last updated on Jan 19, 2022 Started this as a physical project with the Topps Presidential Pastime set.
I never did finish it as a physical collection (probably ended up with around half of the 42 cards in the set (I no longer have them), but that's why the former White Sox Fan In Chief Barack Obama is represented, ironically, with the Cubs' trophy =;) Didn't feel any of the Topps Now cards featuring Trump with baseball celebrations, and we shall see if I'll be swapping out the Biden card once cards of him welcoming teams to the White House, or throwing out first pitches start coming out.

Sets in my Collection, vol. 3: NBA by Billy Kingsley Last updated on Jan 10, 2022 On May 9th, 2016 I completed (I think!) a project I have been working on since sometime in the late 1990s- at least one card from every major NBA set! This was the aspect of my collection I was proudest of, and I had original completed it in 1998. I maintained it until 2005-06 when they started issuing sets I couldn't afford. Back then I did not have access to Ebay, COMC, SportLots, etc. so if I could not afford a box I missed the set. It's actually one of the main reasons I walked away from the NBA aspect of the hobby in November or December of 2006...which I now regret. Since I got back into the NBA full time at the start of the 2012-13 season this has been my main priority, to get all the sets I missed in my time away. Now, finally, I did it!

Sets That Never Were…But Should Be! NBC Late Night Empire by stevejrogers Last updated on Jan 8, 2022 September 27th of 2024 will mark the 70th anniversary of the debut of the historic late night TV franchise on NBC, The Tonight Show.
Considering licensing rights, dealing with estates, production companies, studios, etc, this is a project that can not be produced, but fun to think about. Being generous this has to be done in series, with all sorts of inserts, autos and even memorabilia (how much would a swath of a shown worn Carson jacket fetch!). Personally, the bulk, on The Tonight Show proper would be; Steve Allen/Jack Parr The Early Years Johnny Carson I The NYC early days Johnny Carson II The move to LA through this final show Jay Leno Both tenures in the same series Conan O’Brien Jimmy Fallon I’d also run a dedicated 7th series to the iconic shows that followed The Tonight Show. Notably Tomorrow with Tom Snyder, and the Late Night series with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers. As well as an insert touch on various other similar gabfest format shows NBC produced for overnight time slots over the years, such as Later and Last Call. While the show hosts would dominate the set, cards would feature prominent guests, guest hosts, unique segments, memorable moments and characters done on the show, etc.

They Brought It: Hall of Famer Rookie Cards by thirstydeer Last updated on Dec 27, 2021 There has been plenty of athletic talent on display in the MLB and NHL, but only a select few will ever get serious consideration for their sport's ultimate individual recognition.
Every player in this last has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. All these players have had careers the vast majority of other pros can only dream of, and are idolized by many. Each card shown is in my collection. This list is about the player, not about the value of the card the player is on. It is sorted based on the age of the card and thus the beginning of each player's career.

Reds in an Era: 2019-2021: Let's Go For It & Sneak On In by TheToddFather21 Last updated on Dec 16, 2021 At the beginning of the 2019 season, the Reds traded Homer Bailey and prospects to the Dodgers for Yasiel Puig, Alex Wood, Matt Kemp, and Kyle Farmer marking the first time the Reds had added significant pieces to their major league roster. That year at the trade deadline, the Reds added Trevor Bauer proving that the Reds were serious about contending. At the beginning of the 2020 season, the Reds added a few more players including, Mike Moustakas, Nick Castellanos, Wade Miley, and Pedro Strop which made them candidates (and favorites for some) to make the playoffs and win the division.

No-helmet hitters during the 60s & 70s by theFalcon Last updated on Dec 8, 2021 This is my first attempt at a list. I wanted to come up with one that was quirky and challenging to create. I got the idea by watching the 1965 YouTube video of the Reds' Jim Maloney no-hitting the Cubs. Pete Rose batted with a soft cap which had some kind of padded liner on the inside of it (the outline through the cap was quite visible).

As background, by the late 50s the NL and AL said all players must wear batting helmets, but the rule was not enforced. At the Dec. 1970 winter meetings, the major leagues mandated the helmet rule for all players who signed up after that point and "grandfathered" players who signed before that. Feel free to suggest additional players, but please include a source for them. Thanks.

Last 9 Tiger cards by mfeik Last updated on Nov 26, 2021 Although I started collecting in 1981, I stepped away from it for about 15 years. I got bit by the collecting bug again in 2012, and decided to try to collect all the Tigers Topps base and traded/update cards. These are the last 9 cards I need to complete a 1952-current run, along with a 1950-1952 Bowman run.

Best Finds from November 2021 Thrift Box by Bowersbird Last updated on Nov 19, 2021 My sister gave me a large box of cards that came from a thrift shop. I just want to make this list so I can remember where the best cards came from and to help jog my memory about the sort of cards that were in this box as a whole.
