The caption on this card is "The World Record Car 'Bluebird'." The Bluebird was driven by Malcolm Campbell and designed by C. Amherst Villiers, both Englishmen. The car broke several speed records. In 1927, it set the record at 195mph. In 1928, it became the first to exceed 200mph. In 1931, 246mph. And in 1932, the year of this card, 251mph. -- The number on the back of this card is #7, which is the page number in the Handbook of Sports on which to attach this card. |
