Trivia |
- 12 cards per pack, 36 packs per box, and 12 boxes per case.
- The cards after #280 were not part of the original 1953 set and represent "The Cards that Never Were" and contain this statement on the backs.
- Card #82 of Mickey Mantle was featured on the cover of the April 1992 issue of Sports Card Trader magazine with the caption, "Topps '53 Archives Are Sizzling!"
- There were reportedly 18,000 cases produced.
- Card numbers 174, 253, 261, 267, 268, 271, and 275 do not exist.
- Card #174 (Billy Loes) was not included in the Archives set because he would not sign a contract. He evidently wanted more than the $500 Topps was offering.

Does anyone know how many autographs were provided for the autograph cards?
This is a nice looking set! However, TOPPS did a horrible job with collation in each wax box, as even after opening all 36 packs, still fell 70 Cards short of complete Set. Time to try and do some trading, as I landed two Micky Mantle's and two Ted William's cards . . .
