Year: 1952
Set: Topps (Rate)
Card: #206 Joe Ostrowski
“ I was going to say that he looks more like a math teacher than anything else, and then I read the back of the card, and see that his nickname was "The Professor". It fits! I just looked him up on Wikipedia, if that is correct, he passed away in 2003. It also says he actually was a school teacher for three years before his MLB career and went back to it when he was done playing. ” -Billy Kingsley
“ Sad and determined look. ” -Don41
“ Bueller....Bueller....Bueller ” -SFC Temple
“ A great card. Yes, players had to work in the off-season back then. And he had the usual 3 years of military service. Are today's players spoiled? ” -NJdevils
“ That is awesome that Harry Truman got his own card. AND he's a competent basketball referee! Take that Violet Palmer! ” -revnorb
“ The description on the back perfectly sums up this picture. ” -jlaz10
“ Get this guy a pair of rec-specs!!! ” -SaveDaKid
“ 1952...when Game Used meant the card had been acquired by playing topsies are knock-down. (For you youngsters, google flipping cards) ” -flcardtrader
