Random Card of the Day |
Sunday, March 30, 2014Year: 1988 Set: Kenner Starting Lineup Cards (Rate) “ First time I've seen a Starting Lineup card as Card of the Day...I know there are some years not even on the Database yet, finding a checklist is next to impossible, and even when you can, it's for the figures only, not the cards, which some years actually carried a number system. The NBA cards from 1988, the first year, had a blue border where this one is orange. I only have a handful of the 1988 figures, 2 or 3 I think. And I think only one of them came with the card, but I have not scanned mine yet so I have not posted them to the Database. ” -Billy Kingsley
“ There were two versions of Tony Gwynn. This is the skinny Tony. The other version looked like someone had eaten Tony Gwynn. ” -deporcoruña
“ This is what modern looked like in the 80's. I didn't even had to look at the year of release on this one. They even saved a few buck by printing with only one color on the back, but don't get me wrong I like this card. ” -xv3thekid
“ My grandmother was pretty pessimistic whenever the Padres were in a close game, except when Tony Gywnn was due up. And, most of the times, he didn't disappoint. ” -volbox
“ Nice Padres pinstripes. ” -jlaz10
