“ Palmeiro was drafted in the 1st round (22nd overall) by the Chicago Cubs during the 1985 MLB Draft. He played from 1986-2005 with the Cubs, Rangers (two separate times) and Orioles (two separate times). Career stats: .288 Average, 3,020 hits, 569 Home runs and 1,835 RBI. He was a 4x All-Star, 3x Gold Glover and 2x Silver Slugger. Despite his lofty stats, he is not in the Hall of Fame because he has tested positive for steroids. Palmerio was eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2011 but only received 11% of the necessary 75% of the votes to get into the Hall. During the 2014 Hall voting, he received only 4.4% of the votes which now drops him off the ballot because he fell under 5%. ” -carthage44
