Random Card of the Day |
Thursday, February 7, 2008Year: 1949 The Random Card Generator has a thing for Bowman. That's six Bowman cards in a row now. Gil Hodges was an excellent player. He was second only to his teammate Duke Snider in homeruns and RBI's during the 1950's. On the defensive side, he was the winner of the first three Golden Glove Awards. Later on in his career, he managed the New York Mets to a World Series win in 1969. He died of an untimely heart attack at the age of 47, and unfortunately, has not made it to Cooperstown. |
