Year: 1981-82

Set: O-Pee-Chee (Rate)

Card: #197 Steve Shutt

“ Goals is buts in French? Learn something new every day here! (Despite the fact that I took French in school...) By the way, one of my goals is to eliminate some of my "buts" so I can fit into the jerseys I bought in the 1990s. I hope that crude joke doesn't make you gag(nants). OK, I'll stop now! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I said it before, I'll say it again. Vintage Topps (or OPC), is good. I do like that "game winning goals" tranlates to "buts gagnants". Matter of fact, there's more "buts" on this card, than you'd find in a Walmart parking lot. ” -Kaline6

“ The quiet Canadien ,one of the best there ever was . I really like this set. ” -uncaian

“ Love pre-junk years 80s that is almost vintage, well for some it is technically vintage. Nice team leaders card, except they really should have shown a couple of the other guys it almost looks like an odd one player card. ” -captkirk42

“ Even in the hyper-offensive early 80s, to have 8 players score 20+ goals seems very impressive. Somehow Lafleur was the only Hab with more than 1 point per game... ” -dilemma19

“ Well now how can you not love this? ” -wax_house

“ The more stats the better. Nice work O-Pee-Chee. ” -carthage44

“ For some reason a goal being called a "but" made me laugh a little. ” -RoyalChief

The early to mid-80's OPC sets are among my most cherished collecting memories.
