Year: 1983

Set: Topps Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Rate)

Card: #56 The Deciders

“ Love the Jedi set. Not sure if I have this card or not, been a while since I have gone through my collection. Some of the captions were kind of simplistic (like this one). This is one of the sets that got me into the hobby back in 1988, my brother gave me his duplicates that he got new from all three original movies. I still have not completed any of the three sets yet either! Maybe I will make that my goal for 2018 to celebrate 30 years in the hobby. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Cool! I have this one. ” -volbox

“ Great pic, ugly border. Worst movie, and card set of the original Star Wars Trilogy. ” -Doc Floyd

“ Nice Non-Sport. Glad it is an original and not one of the Anniversary retro-type reprints. ” -captkirk42

“ Excellent. Well-chosen frame, reasonably colorful back (for 1983) and well-written passage. ” -dilemma19

“ Classic! Nice example from the original run. The 'Empire' and 'Jedi' cards never seemed quite as great as the Star Wars cards, but my age may have been a factor in that perception. In elementary school, I remember Star Wars cards being a big deal for many years after the movie came out, but I was in high school by the time Jedi was released. ” -Lea DeFoote

“ What do you mean "deciders"? I only see one decider here. ” -Tater Salad

“ Was this a good movie? I;m asking because I have never seen. ” -carthage44

“ "Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for... sister. So, you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her, too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side... then perhaps she will..." ...and then Luke goes all medieval. Even the weakest (IMO) of the original three has many excellent moments. ” -rmpaq5

We're two Ewoks away from completing the original figure line...most of which were purchased new. Don't have all the variants, and that doesn't count Yak Face either...That's one of those things that could only be added to the collection with a lottery win.

We come from a family of collectors so we saved all our originals...including accessories. Not the packages though. We actually had fun with our figures...someday I will photograph them and put them up on my little-updated action figure blog.

I REALLY wish there was an action figure archive set up like we have for cards...I've got some figures I can't ID, don't even know what line they go to. We were very active with action figures until 2007.

Same here, when they went over 9.99 CDN per figure I quit buying most, now I only grab Vader / Anakin ones as I feel like it, got some pretty good stuff over the years stuffed in my little closet in my cave. My six year olds eyes just twinkle when he sees all those toys still in boxes ....... have been tempted to put a lock on the door ROFL, he already collects too, Trashies, all his Special Edition or Ultra Rares are on the top shelf with his sister's pricey Littlest Pet Shop figures, get em hooked young I say. =)

Rebelscum documents what SW figures have been released pretty good, and 12back.com has a great section on the vintage line. I used to help run a site that focused on the '95 and up stuff, but a couple months ago it went dark.

I rarely buy any anymore, but couldn't pass up 12 of the Black Series figures for a buck each at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.

The problem with Rebel Scum is that you have to know the year something was issued to find it...I don't think they have a feature where you can search by character. I have an account there but I don't remember the password, have not tried to log in in quite some time. I'm sure when I fully photo-document my figures I'll be using it a lot more.

I think I am still credited with a few things on yojoe.com, which documents GI Joe figures...

If anybody wants to look at what I have photographed of my action figure collection- really, only a fraction- I do have a section dedicated to them on my website.

Cool stuff there Billy, bookmarked it so I can check it out better when I am off for a few days. Bunch of stuff that either I had, and some stuff my son had. He loved those Crash Test Dummies, not much of it survived.
