Year: 1985

Set: Donruss (Rate)

Card: #201 Jeff Robinson

“ Not a bad card...A little bland perhaps...I like the light yellow back. Black borders are not a favorite of mine because they chip so easily but this card does not seem to show any of that issue. Nice scan. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I love when a great classic style set appears on ROCTD. Even as a kid I used to wonder why Donruss used a design so similar to this only two years later. The cards have a great look and the classic Donruss stats on the back. As a kid I used to get annoyed at these because Donruss wouldn't show the whole career stats, just the most recent 5 years. I now think of it as classic Donruss, but it is the reason I never liked the back of the old Donruss cards. ” -muskie027

“ Barbie, meet Ken. ” -Sportzcommish

“ Love the 1980's Donruss sets. ” -carthage44

“ Classic Overproduced years set. I suppose that by now since this set is now 32 years old some would consider it to be "vintage". Some folks consider anything produced before they were born "Vintage" so for those just graduating High School this year the 1999 and 2000 sets are the line for "vintage" and almost the line for people who consider the 20 year mark for Vintage. ” -captkirk42

“ not a baseball guy, but the 80s donruss designs were pretty good ” -Thunderfoot

“ Okay design. Good info on backs of 1985 Donruss. ” -cjjt

Billy, if you like the back of this card, I think you would like the back of the 2001 Upper Deck Vintage baseball.    The problem with color on the Donruss backs is that they vary from light yellow to orange.    From what I have seen the Vintage backs seem a fairly reliable color.    Could be wrong of course.

It's funny, over time yellow has become my 2nd favorite color. Green has always been #1 and yellow wasn't even really on the radar much. Now it's become #2.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
